The After-Work Summer Aperitif held at By Luigia with ITA Airways Country Manager Fabio Campitelli in the esteemed presence of the Italian Consul General to Geneva, Switzerland, Nicoletta Piccirillo was the ideal opportunity to rediscover Italy's national carrier.
As ITA goes from strength to strength (just recently it celebrated 30,000 passengers flown on a single day, setting an all-time record since the Company began operations on 15 October 2021), it also announced the addition to the fleet of the second Airbus A350, dedicated to the Marcello Lippi who led the italian football squad to victory in the 2006 World Cup.
The first Airbus A350 with the company's new livery joined the ITA Airways fleet in June to serve the new intercontinental routes that the company opened in the 2022 summer season from Rome Fiumicino to Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Tokyo. The introduction of the Airbus A350 in the ITA Airways fleet represents an important step towards sustainability and is in line with the objectives of the international "Fit for 55" package, whose objectives are shared by ITA Airways.
The arrival of the flagship aircraft has enabled ITA Airways to offer modern, environment-friendly aircraft featuring cutting-edge technology with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions by 750,000 tonnes over the 2021- 2025 plan timeframe.
Of course, Italian style and design is something we have come to expect from ITA Airways, and in 2023 ITA launched their new stunning uniforms by Brunello Cuccinelli and unveiled the plane's new cabin interiors designed by Walter De Silva.
When thinking of Italy exquisite food naturally comes to mind, and ITA Airways has not let us down with Business class now offering 4 signature dishes designed by Michelin-starred Chef Gian Piero Vivalda (Antica Corona Reale).
